Greg Lally
Director
Greg is a highly accomplished executive with deep expertise in business advisory, commercial strategy, financial management and strategic sourcing. With a career spanning both the Commonwealth Government and private enterprise, he brings a rare ability to navigate complex commercial environments, drive operational efficiency and unlock value through practical, forward-thinking advisory solutions.
Since founding Resolve in 2019, Greg has led the firm’s growth into a multidisciplinary practice that supports clients through complexity and transformation. He continues to guide the strategic direction of the business while remaining closely involved in delivery across high-impact engagements – advising clients with clarity, pragmatism and commercial insight.
A Chartered Accountant by background, Greg blends technical depth with strong commercial acumen. His breadth of experience allows him to advise confidently across multiple service lines – from strategic business advisory and outsourced CFO support to complex government engagements. He has supported founders and executives through critical milestones, including structuring, budgeting and forecasting, commercial advisory, strategic planning and succession. Greg regularly partners with executive teams in a CFO capacity, providing insight on investment decisions, financial modelling, governance uplift and operational improvement.
In the public sector, Greg is a trusted partner to Commonwealth agencies, leading high-value procurement and financial management initiatives. He brings structure, insight and rigour to programs of national significance, delivering outcomes that are both compliant and commercially sound. As a co-founder of Resolve Recruit, Greg has also designed a distinctive recruitment model grounded in transparency, discipline and care – supporting clients to build high-performing teams across both government and commercial sectors.
Beyond the public sector, Greg has founded, scaled and advised multiple private businesses across professional services, hospitality and retail. This hands-on commercial experience gives him a pragmatic lens and strong executional capability – making him as comfortable advising boards on investment strategy as he is rolling up his sleeves to refine a pricing model or renegotiate a contract.
Deeply committed to long-term, relationship-driven partnerships, Greg maintains strong ties to both the Canberra and Melbourne business communities. He is also a proud contributor to the philanthropic sector through his role on the Victorian State Advisory Board of the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Greg holds dual degrees in Commerce and Psychology from the Australian National University, is PRINCE2 Foundation certified, and maintains an active security clearance. He is a Chartered Accountant accredited by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
